About Us
The Carriacou Historical Society has been in existence since 26 February 1976. In December 2009, it was incorporated as a non-profit organization under the Company’s Act of Grenada. The society's Executive Committee was then replaced by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of its elected officers and directors. The society has three standing committees: the Museum Committee, the Projects and Planning Committee, and the Finance, Fundraising, and Membership Committee. Subcommittees are formed as the board of directors sees necessary. Currently, there are three such subcommittees: Community Outreach, Industrial Archeology, and The Press.

Museum's Vision
To be the champions for preserving the heritage of Carriacou and Petite Martinique and to heighten public awareness through effective management and education.
To accomplish our vision, we embark on the following objectives, among other things: to preserve the Amerindian, African, and European artifacts of the island for the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique; to identify, preserve and protect historical sites in Carriacou and encourage research into them; to encourage an interest in the history of the island among both Carriacouans and visitors; to found and support a museum where the people of Carriacou and visitors to the island may learn about its history.

Our Team
The Carriacou Museum team is a dedicated group of historians, curators, and community leaders committed to preserving Carriacou's rich cultural heritage. Our team is focused on rebuilding the museum with modern technology while honoring its historic roots, creating a dynamic space for education, research, and cultural engagement.
Our Board
The Carriacou Museum Board comprises passionate professionals dedicated to preserving and promoting the island’s cultural and historical legacy. Their collective expertise guides the museum’s vision, ensuring it remains a vital resource for education and heritage in Carriacou.

Our Annual General Meetings are held early each year and are open to the public. Members are urged to attend to hear reports on the organization's activities, participate in the election process, and be inspired by a keynote speaker. Refreshments always follow the meeting!
Thank You To Our Local Sponsors
We are eternally grateful to the ongoing support received from the community and businesses in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Without that support the society would not be able to host the interesting and informative events of recent months, operate the museum and host the many other activities essential to having a successful society and museum. This page is dedicated to our sponsors and is our way of saying

Grenada Co-operative Bank are our main sponsor. They provided a very generous donation for the museum extension and refurbishment and provided prizes for the recent Primary School Quiz organised by the Outreach Committee.
LIME – one of the telephone companies on Carriacou has kindly sponsored our telephone and internet service for a year.
Netherlands Insurance has generously sponsored the insurance of the museum building and contents since 2009.
Simply Carriacou who kindly donated time and effort in the re-design and ongoing maintenance of this website.
